Message from the President
Happy Holidays to you and yours from CCTSCPA! This month we’re all about fun!

We’re hosting a Meet the CPAs luncheon on Dec. 8 at Katz 21. This is an awesome opportunity to meet future talent and promote the profession you love.

On Dec. 12, we’re gathering at Brewster Street Ice House for the Counting on Santa collection roundup. We’ve had amazing success with the Counting on Santa program with gifts brightening children’s holidays across the Coastal Bend. Come be a part of the giving and the celebration – you’ll be so glad you did!

I’m looking forward to seeing you at these events and our programs in the new year. Please share any ideas and thoughts with me at I want to hear from you!

Meet the CPAs – Dec. 8
The chapter’s Meet the CPAs luncheons are fun for both our student guests and our CPA members. This year we’re planning a more interactive luncheon than we’ve had in past years. Even if you aren’t hiring or you’re not in a position to hire, please consider attending on Dec. 8 at Katz 21 to show students how active our CPA community is and to show your passion for your profession. Lunch is free for students and candidates, and CPAs pay only $15.

Students/Candidates: Email Melinda Bentley to register.
Counting On Santa Collection Roundup – Dec. 12

We’ll have live music and tons of holiday cheer! Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to families served by Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi, or make a tax-deductible monetary donation to help our elves shop for toys for children of all ages. Thanks to your generosity, our collections grow each year!

CPA-PAC: Securing the Future of the CPA Profession in Texas
All licensed professions in Texas are regulated by the State. All state agencies must undergo a review every 12 years to determine if they should be continued or "sunset". The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) and the Texas Public Accountancy Act (TPAA) will undergo sunset review over the next 12 months. A favorable review will result in legislation in 2019 to reauthorize TSBPA and the TPAA. Learn more about Sunset Review.

How can you help us achieve a positive outcome? A contribution to the CPA-PAC will help the CPA-PAC support profession friendly legislators in 2018. Additionally, a contribution to the CPA-PAC helps your chapter meet its fundraising goal for the year. Questions? Contact Diane Joiner, Manager, TSCPA Governmental Affairs.
CCTSCPA Sponsorships
CCTSCPA is offering a variety of sponsorship opportunities to companies who are interested in connecting with our professional community. Consider sharing our sponsorship proposal with anyone you think could benefit from exposure to local CPAs.
Texas CPAs Are Headed for Corpus Christi
Help us welcome CPAs from across the state by attending TSCPA’s Midyear Board and Member Meeting, on January 26-27 at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel. You can earn CPE as you learn about cutting-edge profession issues, hear from top leaders, and network with members from all corners of the state.
