Message from the President
Misty Mata
Misty Mata, CPA
With just under two months left in our 2016-2017 year, we still have three events with 13 hours of CPE ahead. Read on about our convenient half-day technology program on April 28 and the two events on May 18 that will round out our CPE for the year.

May 18 will be our last chapter luncheon before the summer break. Be sure to make plans to attend! We’ll have our new calendar posted later this summer. Your incoming board of directors is already thinking of ways to continue to add great member value in the next year.

And finally, later this month you’ll receive your membership renewal statement. We are grateful for the trust and commitment you’ve given to TSCPA and our chapter. If you need any help renewing your membership or have any questions about how to make the most of your membership, email our Chapter Liaison Melinda Bentley for personal assistance.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Protecting Your Investment
To ensure that the accounting profession continues to have a strong presence in Texas’ legislative and regulatory activities, as many individuals as possible must be involved in the political process. Making donations to the CPA-PAC is the fastest, easiest and most efficient way to contribute to those critical regulatory and legislative efforts.

Thanks to TSCPA CPA-PAC donors, you don’t have to list your license number on your business cards. Thanks to PAC donors, you don’t have to get a law license to give tax advice. Thanks to PAC donors, there is no sales tax on accounting services. All TSCPA members benefit from the hard work and financial support of PAC donors; their contributions are what keep the wolves at bay.

The efficacy of the CPA-PAC is directly proportional to how many CPAs are involved: the greater the numbers, the more influence the profession will have. You have the opportunity to contribute with your annual renewal statement, or at any time online or by phone. Every little bit counts – from $5 to $500, your donation makes a difference.
