Message from the President
This month is full of FUN at CCTSCPA! First, we have Meet the CPAs on December 9. These luncheons are a great way to meet the future of our profession. Come to find your next superstar, or simply attend to show these students how supportive and engaged the CPA community is.

Our fifth annual Counting on Santa Collection Roundup is planned at Brewster Street Ice House on December 13. Live music, toys, elves, and holiday cheer make this event one you don’t want to miss! Come see what all the fuss is about as we work to collect even more donations to brighten the holiday for area children in need. Read on to find out how easy it is to donate online for this cause.
In the new year we’ll be voting on the slate of candidates for 2017-18 and bringing members together for the popular annual tax conference. All of the details can be found in this issue.
CCTSCPA wishes all of you a merry, bright, happy, and healthy holiday season!

Silent Auction Benefits Scholarships
CCTSCPA is preparing for the silent auction to be held on Feb. 3, at the 59th Annual Tax Conference. The last three auctions have raised more than $6,000 for local scholarship awards. There are two ways you can participate in the 2017 silent auction. First, we’re collecting any items you’d like to donate for bidding. If you have something to be included in the auction, please contact Chapter Liaison Melinda Bentley at or 800/428-0272, ext. 279. Second, be prepared to bid on some great items at the tax conference. We’ll be at the Education Service Center all day. If you’re not able to come out for the CPE, please consider stopping by and making a bid.

CCTSCPA Members Participated
Chapter members and local accounting students gave back during CPA Month of Service by volunteering for two chapter-hosted community service events. Groups walked in the HEB Miles for Meals glow walk benefiting the Corpus Christi Food Bank and prepared a meal for guests at the Ronald McDonald House. Thank you for showing your community how much CPAs care!
