Message from the President
Amy Twardowski
Amy Twardowski, CPA
Wow! This has been an eventful year for me personally and professionally. Our daughter Cali was born last June, the same month when I began my term as your chapter president. It’s hard to believe how much has happened in just 11 short months. It has truly been a joy serving as your president and building new relationships along the way. I’d like to extend special thanks to those who served on the board with me this year: Jeff Smith, Kellie Shipley, Johnna Jones, Misty Mata, Setal Patel, Julio Flores, Elaine Hoffman, Sharon Kollaja, David Morales, Paul Damerow, Diane DeCou, and Jerry Spence. I also send thanks to all of you for your continued support of our chapter through your membership, volunteer commitments, and attendance at our events. Next month, we’ll share our chapter report with you. It’s really awesome to see all of the collective work done to protect and promote our profession in the local community. With your continued support, I’m sure we’ll have another successful upcoming year. I hope you never forget how important you are to the chapter and the state society.

We have one more CPE luncheon to go before the summer break. You’ll see the details in this issue of the newsletter. You can stay connected to us through our monthly newsletters and Facebook over the summer break.

The 2015-2016 board is gearing up to step in and continue to offer you excellent service. We look forward to learning and networking with you in the 2015-2016 year!

Today is the Day for Meet the CPAs!
Come on out for today’s Meet the CPAs luncheon at Katz 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A panel of CPA members will share their career experiences, and we’ll show off our 2014-15 scholarship recipients. You’ll want to meet these rising stars! Even if you aren’t hiring or you’re not in a position to hire, please consider attending to show these students how active our CPA community is and to show your passion for your profession. Lunch is free for students and candidates, and CPAs pay only $15.

Join Us for CPA Day of Service May 2

CCTSCPA will be sending volunteers to the Food Bank from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you’re free that morning, please come out and join us! If you do service on your own or with others, please send us photos so we can promote your activities in TSCPA and CCTSCPA social media posts, or use the hashtag #TXCPAService in your own posts.
