It’s a new year! Did you make any resolutions? Let us help you with your professional resolutions this year. We can help you work towards your CPE goals with our luncheons and the Annual Tax Conference. If you’re looking to expand your network, or need to hire some new talent, our chapter events are an excellent way to meet current and future CPAs and build relationships. There are many ways your membership can help you grow professionally in 2015. We hope you’ll tell us what you need so we can help you get there.

Coming up on January 9 is our first luncheon of 2015 and our member election. You’ll see the slate of candidates listed in this newsletter. And in just a few weeks, we’ll be hosting our largest event of the year, the 57th Annual Tax Conference. We have a new venue and great speakers. Check below for details and links to register.

Pay It Forward at Silent Auction Benefitting Scholarships
CCTSCPA is preparing for the silent auction to be held on Jan. 30, at the 57th Annual Tax Conference. Last year’s auction raised more than $2,500 that went directly to scholarship awards. Scholarships are given each spring to accounting students from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University – Kingsville, and Del Mar College who are eager to enter the profession. Help show our support for local talent by helping to offset their educational costs. There are two ways you can participate in the 2015 silent auction. First, we’re collecting any items you’d like to donate for bidding. If you have something to be included in the auction, please contact Chapter Liaison Melinda Bentley at mbentley@tscpa.net or 800/428-0272, ext. 279. Second, be prepared to bid on some great items at the Jan. 30 Tax Conference. We’ll be at the Education Service Center all day. If you’re not able to come out for the CPE, please consider stopping by and making a bid.

Third Annual Counting on Santa Toy Collection The Biggest So Far!
Many thanks to all of you who helped brighten the holiday season for area children who were Counting on Santa! The effort, led by Past-President and Chief Elf Natalie Klostermann, yielded more than 70 boxes of toys worth about $7,500. Catholic Charities was on hand at the collection round up in December, and they were grateful for the support your chapter showed for your community.
