Message from the President
Our chapter year is coming to a close, but we’re showing no signs of slowing down. We have SIX more events planned for April and May. We’re offering a variety of involvement and engagement opportunities at these events. From CPE, to networking with accounting students, to giving back to the community, there’s something for EVERYONE. Details on each event can be found below. Congratulations to Student Honorees
The chapter awarded three students with scholarships and presented two students with a TSCPA Accounting Excellence Award from the Accounting Education Foundation of TSCPA at the March 27 luncheon. Scholarship awards were made possible through your generous contributions to our fundraising efforts and thanks to the support of sponsors. Scholarship recipients were Brittney Honeycutt, Steven Tran, and Hallie Hollenback. Accounting Excellence Award winners were Chelsea Williams, and Justin Jevric.
Nine Hours of CPE Offered on April 24
TSCPA will host a full-day technology program at the Ortiz Center on April 24. As an added bonus, CCTSCPA will host a chapter CPE luncheon with a presentation on disaster recovery and business continuity planning. That will bring the day’s total to up to nine hours of CPE credit. Register for one or both programs soon to guarantee your spot!

FREE CPE – Member Appreciation CPE on April 28
CCTSCPA is grateful for your membership! Let us say THANKS with another opportunity to attend quality, local CPE for FREE! Register for our April 28 offering on Utilizing MS Excel Pivot Tables and VLookup. The one-hour program begins at 8:00 a.m. at Stripes Stores Support Center. This course will teach participants how to create pivot table reports and utilize the VLookup function within Microsoft Excel 2013. Utilizing these tools can speed productivity by allowing for a more comprehensive view of data that is stored within Excel. This course will incorporate the use of demonstrations and hands on exercises to introduce participants to the concepts discussed during class.

Meet the CPAs – May 1
The chapter’s Meet the CPAs luncheons are fun for both our student guests and our CPA members. Make plans to attend the next one on May 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Katz 21. Even if you aren’t hiring or you’re not in a position to hire, please consider attending to show these students how active our CPA community is and to show your passion for your profession. Lunch is free for students and candidates, and CPAs pay only $15. Register by April 24.

CPA Day of Service May 2
You can be part of TSCPA’s first statewide CPA Day of Service on Saturday, May 2 (#TXCPAService). Members are encouraged to volunteer individually, with their organizations, or with their chapters. CCTSCPA will be sending volunteers to the Food Bank from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you’re interested in volunteering that day, please add your name to the list so we know how many volunteers to expect. To be entered in a drawing for a $50 Amex gift card, register on TSCPA’s CPA Day of Service webpage by April 24.
