Message from the President
With deadlines looming and the end of the fiscal year nearing, it’s almost time to wrap-up some of our chapter activities for the year.

This month we’re hosting a new CPE conference and offering students and CPAs a chance to mix and mingle. We’re also preparing for the last of our chapter luncheons for the year, and looking ahead to 2008-09.

Introducing CPAs and Students at a Local Mix and Mingle Event
The chapter is excited to host the first-ever “Meet the CPAs” event for local accounting students and CPAs. On Tuesday, April 29 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. the chapter will host a mix and mingle reception and panel presentation for students from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M-Kingsville to get a glimpse of the accounting scene in the Coastal Bend.

All chapter members are invited to attend. CPA members in attendance will receive a résumé book highlighting the experiences and education of the local talent at each school. This may be a great opportunity for students to find their next job and for CPAs to find their next new hire.
