Texas Margin Tax Calculator
The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has released a tax calculation tool that allows users to compute the tax due under the new Texas franchise or margin tax. Read the fine print or you might not complete the form correctly. For example, the big print says you can deduct wages as determined by W-2 forms, but the fine print reminds that owner and partner distributions are also deductible.

Federal Key Person Volunteers Needed
Several Texas federal legislators do not have a TSCPA key person – someone to communicate the CPA agenda, advocate the CPA position and help protect the profession. If you know one or more of your federally-elected officials and would like to participate in the AICPA Federal Key Person Program, please contact Patty Tinsley. (E-mail ptinsley@tscpa.net; phone 817-419-0167.)
